11th Annual Pierre/Fort Pierre Holiday Parade of Lights

The 2011 Parade of Lights will begin at 6:30 p.m., with lineup at 5:30 p.m. in State Capitol Building parking lot. Lighted floats, vehicles, golf carts, motorcycles, "walking floats" and anything that moves is welcome. Pre-Registration by November 23rd is requested through the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce at 224-7361. Registration forms are available at the chamber office. Please display your business/group name on the side of the float. Please be aware that the only Santa in the parade will be the one invited by the committee. Santa and his elves will be giving out treats for all the children along the parade route courtesy of BankWest.

Parade Route: The parade will begin behind the State Capitol Building and progress down Nicollet Avenue to Capitol Avenue, west on Capitol Avenue to Pierre Street, then south on Pierre Street to end at the American Legion Cabin.

Refreshments will be provided by the National Guard on the corner of Pierre Street & Sioux Avenue from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Refreshments include hot dogs, popcorn balls, coffee, cider & hot chocolate.
