8th Annual SD Kite Day at the Capitol

The Eight annual South Dakota Kite Day is Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Hilger’s Gulch in Pierre, South Dakota. The event, being held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Central Daylight Time. The event is by Pierre Elks Lodge No. 1953, NextEra Energy Inc, and South Dakota Wind for Schools. Children ages 14 and under, are encouraged to attend. The first 400 children will receive a free kite and plenty of space to have fun with no trees. Elk’s members will be available to hand out kites, offer assistance in putting them together and getting them to fly. Parents also are encouraged to get involved and volunteers are always welcome to help. There is no registration fee.
