Book Discussion
Humanities scholar Dr. Kathy Antonen of Rapid City will lead a discussion of One Book South Dakota selection "The Long-Shining Waters." One Book South Dakota is a program of the South Dakota Humanities Council that encourages people throughout the state to read and discuss the same title. The book by Danielle Sosin tells the story of three women who live in different centuries on the shores of Lake Superior. The discussion at Prarie Pages Bookseller is in preparation for Sosin's speaking in Pierre on Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Capitol Lake Visitors Center.
Copies of "The Long-Shining Waters" are available at Prairie Pages Bookseller and the Heritage Stores at the Cultural Heritage Center and the Capitol.
The book discussion is hosted by Prairie Pages Bookseller and the South Dakota Historical Society Foundation, and is made possible by a grant from the South Dakota Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The South Dakota Historical Society Foundation is the nonprofit fundraising partner of the South Dakota State Historical Society.
