Customer Service Training

The Pierre Area CVB will host a Customer Service Training during National Travel & Tourism Week on Monday, May 7th in the Community Room at the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce, located at 800 W. Dakota Ave. Two sessions will be offered: 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Mary Arlington has 10 years of experience greeting tourists, after a lifetime of being a tourist. She knows what it's like to stand on both sides of the counter. Mary owned and operated an overnight campground in the middle of wide-open Kansas. Tourism opportunities here in the Pierre area are a hundredfold more plentiful than in her former area, yet it was her primary goal to retain as many tourists for as long as she could, sharing ideas for places to see and things to do. Mary will share with you how to think like a tourist and how to see your local community from the unique perspective of someone who is simply passing through.
