Local, state and federal specialists will discuss flood preparedness. This meeting is one of six planned across South Dakota.
The meetings are designed to help citizens learn more about the spring weather outlook, flood insurance, and steps residents and businesses can take to reduce their risk from all hazards in advance of the spring storm season. The town hall meetings are open to the public, and citizens are encouraged to attend one of the meetings near their home community.
At each meeting, citizens will hear formal presentations and have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with representatives from Hughes/Stanley Emergency Management, South Dakota Office of Emergency Management, National Weather Service and FEMA. Printed information will be available for distribution at each location.
