The national spotlight shown on South Dakota during the summer of 1927. President Calvin Coolidge spent nearly three months in the Black Hills. Seth Tupper of Rapid City tells of the visit in his book "Calvin Coolidge in the Black Hills." His PowerPoint presentation will focus mainly on the president's time in the Black Hills, but will include a few humorous stories about the stopover Coolidge made in Pierre during the train trip to Rapid City. Everyone is welcome to attend the free program. "Calvin Coolidge in the Black Hills" is available at the Heritage Stores at the Cultural Heritage Center and the Capitol.
