History and Heritage Book Club

Those attending the Nov. 8 meeting of the History and Heritage Book Club will learn about South Dakota's first poet laureate, Badger Clark. The book club selection is "Sun and Saddle Leather." Paul Jensen of Wasta, a member of the Badger Clark Memorial Society, will be the guest speaker, telling about Clark's life and the memorial society. Gary Heintz of Pierre will perform some of Clark's songs that have been set to music.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre. It is free and open to anyone.
