Homeowner's Guide for Construction of Landscape Retaining Walls
This seminar is presented to assist the do-it yourself homeowner and contractors to construct safe and stable masonry block landscape walls. Design basics, best construction practice and pitfalls will be covered. The principle behind the stability of these walls is not as simple as it may seem. Masonry block landscape walls are known by several names such as: Segmental Retaining Walls (SRW), Modular Block Walls, Mechanically Reinforced Soil Walls (MRS) and Landscape Walls.
In recent years landscape walls have become very popular in Pierre. Unfortunately, many of the existing walls are showing distress and some have failed completely. This seminar will provide information that will allow future walls to be constructed using acceptable engineering practice which will result in a product that will remain stable and pleasing.
