
Making Sense of the American Civil War book discussion
A series of three Civil War book discussions on October 11, October 20, and November 4. Discussions will be led by Presentation College history professor Brad Tennant and Professor Donovin Sprague from Black Hills State University. Books to be discussed include "March" by Geraldine Brooks; "Crossroads of Freedom: Antietam" by James McPherson; "America's War" edited by Edward L. Ayers, and a booklet of readings by Tennant and Sprague focusing on events occurring in Dakota Territory and the surrounding region during the Civil War period. Readers may sign out and borrow the books from the Cultural Heritage Center. October 11 discussion will be on the booklet of readings. October 20 will focus on "America's War" and Nov 4 discussion will be on "March" and "Crossroads of Freedom."
