On a cold January night, six strange people disrupt a rehearsal at the Grand Opera House in Pierre. They call themselves ?characters.? Shelved by their creator, this is their desperate gamble for a life of their own. But as characters, their tragic story is only pretend. . . . Right?

Intensely cerebral, frequently ironic, and ultimately unsettling, this is the show from Nobel prizewinner Luigi Pirandello that in 1921 forever divided theater into a ?before? and ?after.? It will raise questions about the art of story that only you can answer.
