Pulitzer Prize Panel
A three-member panel will discuss how politics and government are depicted in Pulitzer Prize-winning books. The panelists are Bob Burns, South Dakota State University distinguished professor of political science emeritus; Mac Harris, historian and former director of the South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum; and John Miller, SDSU professor of history emeritus. They will tell what the Pulitzer Prize means and each will discuss a Pulitzer Prize winning novel. The novels are "Original Meanings: Politics and Ideas in the Making of the Constitution:" "All the King's Men" and "The Making of the President 1960." The program is made possible by the South Dakota Humanities Council, which is recognizing a century of the Pulitzer Prize at the South Dakota Festival of Books. It is hosted by the South Dakota Historical Society Foundation.
