Shop and Win $50,000 on Historic Pierre Street

The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce invites shoppers to go past “Go” and collect their “Community Chest” punch card this summer. If they play along, they’ll be entered into a drawing for a chance to win the big cash prize.

It's all part of a way to help our downtown merchants during the summer road construction.
 
To play, shoppers can to pick up a punch card at one of 11 participating businesses. Between July 1 and August 14, each person can collect one punch per business per day at any of the 11 stores. Once the card is filled, they deposit it into the entry box and can get a new card to start again.  Participating businesses include: First National Bank (Sioux Ave. location), Oahe Federal Credit Union, Microfix, The Alley Exchange, Edward Jones (Pierre Street location), Hallmark Card & Candy Shop, Capital City Florist, Tibbs Leatherworks, Prairie Pages, Pierre Monument Company and Serendipidy’s Attic.  In addition, the chamber encourages shoppers to watch for promotions on the chamber’s Facebook Page and Hot Deals on the chamber’s website www.pierre.org.
 
One lucky person will be drawn from the completed entries. That person will win $500 and a chance to win the big $50,000 cash prize on Friday, August 21. The public is welcome to cheer the player on.
 
Many businesses have spruced up their back doors to welcome customers and there is plenty of “free parking” at the rear entrances of both sides of Pierre Street.
 
No purchase is necessary to enter the promotion, however you must be 18 years old.


DETAILED CONTEST RULES FOR PICK TILL YOU WIN – 40 ENVELOPES - GENERIC:
 
 

1. How to Enter the Contest:

1. The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce $50,000 Cash Giveaway contest will begin on July 1 at 8:00 a.m. and end on August 14 at 5:00 p.m. The Grand Prize drawing will take place on August 21.

2. To participate in the contest, pick up a “Community Chest” card at any of the participating locations: First National Bank (125 W. Sioux Ave location), Oahe Federal Credit Union,  The Alley Exchange, Microfix, Edward Jones (362 S. Pierre Street location), Hallmark Card & Candy Store, Capital City Florist, Tibbs Leatherworks, Prairie Pages, Pierre Monuments and Serendipidy’s Attic. Collect 10 punches at one or more of the participating locations, fill out the back and deposit into any of the prize boxes.    

3. Limit one (1) punch per business per day.  Entrants may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce.

2. Eligibility Restrictions:

1. The contest is open to all contest participants who are 18 years of age or older and who reside in the United States. Employees, officers, and directors of the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce, First National Bank, Oahe Federal Credit Union, The Alley Exchange, Microfix, Edward Jones, Hallmark Card & Candy Store, Capital City Florist, Tibbs Leatherworks, Prairie Pages, Pierre Monuments, Serendipidy’s Attic and Odds On Promotions, their respective affiliated companies, subsidiaries, distributors, dealers, retailers, printers, advertising, and promotion agencies, any and all other companies associated with this contest, and the members of the immediate families or households of any of the above are not eligible. Immediate family shall include spouse, parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren and any other person residing within the same household.

2. Only one (1) winner per household is permitted in any contest.

3. Prizes:

1. Grand Prize: $50,000 cash prize Approximate USD: $50,000

2. A maximum of one (1) Grand Prize will be awarded. If the one (1) available Grand Prize is won in accordance with these Rules, the contest will officially end at the time the Grand Prize is won. If the contestant does not successfully select five (5) Grand Prize winning contest envelopes from a randomly commingled group of forty (40) contest envelopes provide by OOP in accordance with these rules, no Grand Prize will be awarded.

3. Grand Prize is provided courtesy of Odds On Promotions.

4. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce, 800 W. Dakota Ave, Pierre, South Dakota.  Any prize or prize certificate not claimed within forty-five days of winning will be forfeited by the winner.  In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its arrival.  The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.

5. Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash.

6. Grand Prize winner will receive 1099 IRS Tax form for the value of the Grand Prize as stated in these contest rules.

7. Prizes are limited solely to those items explicitly set forth herein and shall not include any and all other expenses, incidentals or taxes that may arise out of the winner’s receipt of this prize.

4. Selection and Notification of Winners:

1. Decisions of the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce and OOP with respect to the contest are final.

2. A total of one (1) finalist will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received to participate in the contest.  A selected finalist that cannot be reached or contacted to confirm their selection does not meet the eligibility requirements, or does not wish to participate in the Grand Prize contest will be disqualified.  An alternate finalist will be randomly selected.

3. In order to qualify for prize reimbursement, an eligible contestant must open one (1) contest envelope at a time for a corresponding randomly commingled group of forty (40) contest envelopes provided by OOP until he/she has successfully revealed FIVE (5) matching prizes/symbols.   If the matching prize/symbol revealed corresponds to Prize Level A per the table below, OOP will reimburse the Client the specified prize amount.

4. Contestant is not allowed to open any additional contest envelopes after five (5) matching prizes/symbols have been revealed.

5. The envelope pick must occur in the presence of the Contest Administrator.  Any envelope pick attempt not in the presence of the contest Administrator is not eligible for a Grand Prize, regardless of the outcome.

6. The odds of being selected as an official contestant(s) are dependent upon the number of entries received. The odds of winning the contest once selected as an official contestant are:  1:511.

5. Conditions:

1. Payment of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.  Winners will be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.  Failure or refusal to execute the release will result in winner forfeiting the prize.  Photo identification and social security number of the Grand Prize winner may also be required in order to collect the prize

2. By participating in the contest, the winner or winners (and their guest or traveling companion, if any) agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and to sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize.

3. A maximum (1) Grand Prize(s) will be awarded.  Grand Prize winner must accept delivery of prize from the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce, or as otherwise instructed by the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce.  All other costs related to prize delivery and acceptance is the responsibility of winner including but not limited to all federal state and local taxes.  All properly claimed prizes will be awarded.  Prizes are non-transferable and no cash redemption or prize substitution allowed, except at the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce’s sole discretion or as provided herein.  The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value not to exceed grand prize cost if an advertised prize becomes unavailable.

4. Grand Prize winner(s) will be required to complete and return a W-9 form (if prize value exceeds $600.00), affidavit of eligibility, and liability/publicity release (Tennessee residents need not sign publicity release), and present a valid driver’s license and social security card before prize will be awarded.  Winners of prizes greater than $600.00 will be issued a 1099 form reflecting the value of the prize(s) and are responsible for paying all income taxes on prize(s).  Pursuant to the liability release, the winners will agree to hold Odds On Promotions, the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce, its licensee, their affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.

5. The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify the contest rules and dates at any time for any reason.  Material modifications shall be announced on-air, when practical. By participating in this contest, you agree to be bound by these contest rules, any modifications thereof, and by all other rules imposed by the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce.

6. No purchase is necessary.  Purchase does not increase chances of winning. The contest is void where prohibited.

7. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification, at the sole discretion of the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce.
8. 8. The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize. 

9. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours of the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce, 800 W. Dakota Ave. Pierre, SD. or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce.
