The Year from Dakota Territory to South Dakota

Humanities scholars Joyce Jefferson, Belinda Joe and Lil Witt will review newspapers to describe Dakota Territory the 12 months before statehood. The staff of the State Archives of the South Dakota State Historical Society will tell about newspapers that are available on microfilm. Everyone is welcome to attend the free program, which is hosted by the APT Book Club and South Dakota Historical Society Foundation. The program is made possible by a grant from the South Dakota Humanities Council.
