2025 - 2026 Leadership Pierre Arts & Culture Session + Graduation
Leadership Pierre Students will be attending the educational portion of the class, this months topic is ''Next Level Leading'' led by Eric Therwanger. They will then attending session trips and/or panels focusing on ''Arts & Culture.'' They will also attend the Graduation Ceremony! Classroom Only Students will be attending the education portion of the class, this months topic is ''Next Level Leading'' led by Eric Therwanger. Vision Statement: Leadership Pierre is a comprehensive program for current and emerging leaders to analyze characteristics associated with leadership, develop individual skills, and gather an awareness of trends, challenges and issues that face Hughes and Stanley County. Leadership Pierre seeks a diverse group of participants of varying interest and styles across a broad spectrum of achievement from the area. Program: Leadership Pierre is an educational program intended for Pierre area citizens who have an interest in their communities, their leaders and institutions, and/or specific leadership opportunities. During the nine-month program, participants will hear from area experts, tour places which make our community unique, participate in thought-provoking discussion and learn how and why decisions are made...all with the goal of shaping tomorrow's leaders. Up to 15 area people who live or work in Hughes or Stanley County will be selected. Individuals not selected will be added to the wait list. To receive a certificate of completion from Leadership Pierre, participants are expected to attend all sessions in their entirety, kick-off, graduation and at least one community involvement opportunity during the program.
3rd Fridays Stand-Up Shows 2026
The Speakeasy presents: 3rd Fridays 3rd Fridays comedy nights are back for Season 4, and we're bringing in the best and brightest comedians from all over the region to grace our stage. The show is free, the laughs are on us and the rest is on you. Grab some goods at the bar and get ready for a night that'll make your ribs sore. Speakeasy House Rules: Please silence your cell phones. We want everyone to be present and enjoy the show. Be respectful of the comedians and your fellow audience members. This includes keeping chatter to a minimum. If you want to have a conversation, please go downstairs to the Social Club. Do not heckle the comedians. It's distracting and disrespectful. Anyone who heckles will be asked to leave. There is no cover charge for the show! The bar is located downstairs in the Social Club. Feel free to grab a bucket of beers on your way up. Finally, we hope you have a great night and get a good laugh in. Laughter is good for the soul!
9th Annual Hoppy Earth Day Craft Beer Festival
Hoppy Earth Day brings together South Dakota breweries for an afternoon of craft beer, community, and live music. Each brewery will feature at least two beers, giving guests the chance to discover new favorites or enjoy classic styles. Live music includes Tanner Johns and headliner Hot Fuzz, with an after party performance by Tanner Johns inside the restaurant after the festival ends at 5 PM. Tickets are $50 presale, $40 during the one-day Craft Beer Week sale on March 11 (in-house only), and $60 at the door if available. A limited charter bus from The Smoking Mule in Chamberlain, SD is available for $85, which includes festival admission, a commemorative glass, and round-trip transportation. ​ New this year is the Crushable Corner, featuring easy-drinking beer styles and a blind taste test. Live screen printing will also be available for custom Hoppy Earth Day merchandise.
