Patrol Officer

The City of Pierre seeks an enthusiastic individual to join our team in making Pierre one of the best places to live, work, and visit. Performs law enforcement & public safety duties as necessary to maintain law & order in the City of Pierre.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, & pass the police entry level examinations including a background investigation.  Prior experience in law enforcement is desirable.  Certified officer preferred.

MINIMUM WAGE:  $29.96 minimum plus comprehensive benefit package including 100% employer paid employee health, dental and life insurance along with a 8% employer match to the South Dakota Retirement System and 12 paid holidays.  Up to $2000 annually for educational reimbursement.
